Dry ice fog effects turn an ordinary wedding or event into something guests remember for years. That thick, low-lying white fog rolling across the stage during the couple’s entry, the dreamy first dance floating on clouds — all of it comes from dry ice. If you are planning a wedding, walima, corporate event, or concert in Pakistan, here is everything you need to know about dry ice fog effects, and how to get them delivered on your event day.
What Are Dry Ice Fog Effects?
Dry ice fog effects are created when dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide, −78.5°C) meets hot water. The dry ice sublimates instantly, producing a dense white fog that stays low to the ground instead of rising like smoke. Event companies feed dry ice into a fog machine or a simple insulated container with hot water, and the result is that magical “dancing on clouds” look.
Unlike chemical smoke machines, dry ice fog effects are non-toxic, leave no smell, and do not set off smoke alarms — which is why wedding planners across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad prefer them for indoor venues.
Where Dry Ice Fog Effects Are Used
- Couple’s entry — the most popular use; fog rolls in as the bride and groom walk onto the stage.
- First dance — dancing on clouds during the first dance.
- Stage performances — concerts, qawwali nights, and dance performances.
- Walima and mehndi — grand entries and photo backdrops.
- Corporate events and launches — product reveals with dramatic fog.
- Photoshoots — photographers love the dreamy low fog for couple shoots.
How Much Dry Ice Do You Need for Fog Effects?
It depends on the venue size and how long you want the effect to last:
- Small stage / couple entry (10–15 minutes): 5–10 kg.
- Full wedding stage for the evening: 15–25 kg.
- Large hall or outdoor event: 25–40 kg.
A good rule of thumb: dry ice sublimates continuously, so order a little extra to cover delays. Our team can help you estimate the right quantity for your venue — just share your event details on WhatsApp.
Dry Ice Fog Effects Safety Tips
Dry ice fog effects are safe when handled correctly. Keep these points in mind:
- Never touch dry ice with bare hands — always use gloves or tongs.
- Keep it ventilated — the fog is carbon dioxide; venues should have normal airflow.
- Don’t seal it in airtight containers — pressure builds up as it sublimates.
- Let professionals handle it — your event planner or our delivery team can guide safe use.
